Sevgi Soylemezgil is a Ph.D. candidate in Finance at Binghamton University’s School of Management. Her research interests lie at the intersection of corporate and municipal bond markets, with a particular focus on sustainability, political economy, and credit risk. Her current work examines how biodiversity risks are priced in corporate debt markets and how political incentives shape decisions in the municipal bond market.
Her research has been presented at international conferences including the Financial Management Association, the Global Finance Conference, and the Southwestern Finance Association. She is the recipient of the 11th Hakan Orbay Research Award for PhD Students, and her work has been recognized as a finalist in the Sustainable Finance in Fixed-Income Research Competition hosted by FIASI and Fordham University.
She has taught Financial Management at Binghamton and has served on the Academic Integrity Committee. She also contributes to the profession as a reviewer for academic journals and finance conferences.
